Trucks, Guitars, and Good Times at the Large Cars & Guitars Truck Show

The Large Cars & Guitars Truck Show is an incredible event held at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, TN, bringing together truck enthusiasts and music lovers to raise money and awareness for breast cancer and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Three years ago, Tony Justice came up with the idea for this unique truck show after his wife Misty bravely fought and beat breast cancer. Teaming up with Evan Steger, Tony has since created a must-attend event that continues to grow in popularity. Evan has been instrumental in helping organize the show and concert, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Despite a forecast of rain, the weather turned out perfect for the event. May 8th, the day before the show, the parking lot received a natural wash from the rain, setting the stage for a beautiful and sunny weekend. Mercer’s Recruiting Manager, Anthony Starks and veteran recruiter, Ron Jonke, were greeted by the sweet fragrance of those beautiful Tennessee spring flowers in the air, adding to the event’s charm.

Friday night kicked off with a delightful dinner featuring a delicious BBQ menu, sodas, and water. This year, nearly 200 trucks were showcased in all their glory, complemented by fantastic musical entertainment and the stunning “Fire on the Mountain Light Show.” Performances by Paul Marhoeffer (Long Haul Paul) and Elvie Shane kept the crowd energized and entertained.

Saturday morning featured a live auction with all proceeds going to support breast cancer awareness. The day continued with more exciting activities, including performances by EmiSunshine and Tony Justice, followed by another dazzling light show and the spectacular “Rock The Smokies Fireworks Extravaganza.”

Mercer Transportation was thrilled to participate in this amazing truck show for the first time. Anthony and Ron were on-site to connect with potential new owner operators and anyone else attending the show. Both Anthony and Ron had a fantastic time and enjoyed meeting everyone at the truck show.
