winter prep can be frightening
As dangerous weather creeps in, we offer some winter prep tips we’ve heard from drivers over the years.

Kicking things off, we dive into winter prep safety tips to help keep drivers prepared for the colder months ahead. From tarping challenges to dealing with snowy roads, we’ve got you covered on everything you need to know. Things lighten up as we shift to a discussion on the best truck scenes in movies. Is Optimus Prime the GOAT? Our hosts weigh in with highlights from Terminator 2, Maximum Overdrive, and more, making for a fun debate you won’t want to miss.

In this episode, we spotlight Michael Dorsey, a Mercer Transportation owner-operator recently recognized as a Highway Angel by the Truckload Carriers Association. Dorsey displayed incredible courage during Hurricane Helene’s aftermath in Tennessee, using his trailer to shelter 11 people from deadly floodwaters. Although the storm tragically took several lives, including some on Dorsey’s trailer, his quick actions saved others. A Marine veteran and Texas resident, Dorsey humbly downplays his heroism, attributing his actions to being in the “right place at the right time.” Read more about Dorsey’s story.

And it doesn’t stop there! In addition, with the 4th quarter and peak season upon us, we share some insights to help our drivers stay ahead during this busy time of year. Also, with a recap of our recent chili cookout, reflections on what makes Mercer feel like family, and a final heartfelt “thank you” to all our drivers, this episode is packed with moments that celebrate the entire Mercer community.
