The Dedication Behind Mercer’s Mid-America Trucking Show Booth

Each year, the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) serves as the biggest stage in the industry, bringing together drivers, carriers, and trucking enthusiasts from across the country. And each year, Mercer Transportation rises to the occasion with a booth that stands out as the heart of the expo—Mercertown. But what most don’t see is the incredible effort it takes to make it all happen.

A Team Effort Under Pressure

Setting up Mercer’s booth at MATS isn’t just about placing banners and handing out flyers. It takes weeks of planning and coordination, executed in a high-pressure environment with a tight deadline. From the moment our setup crew arrives at the Kentucky Expo Center, it’s all hands on deck. Our on-campus facilities team works alongside longtime collaborators, Ron Metts Construction, and our trusted partners, Ryan Banta Construction, each playing a critical role in transporting, assembling, and ultimately tearing down the booth after the event. The challenge isn’t just the size of the setup—it’s the timeline. Everything has to be perfect before the doors open to thousands of attendees.

At the center of this controlled chaos is Ty Marshall. As the leader of this massive operation, Ty ensures that every piece falls into place, keeping the team focused and the process running smoothly. His expertise, organization, and ability to solve problems on the fly are what make Mercer’s presence at MATS not just possible, but exceptional. The entire Mercer family owes him a huge thanks for his dedication to making Mercertown a must-visit destination year after year.

The Showpiece: Eddy & Jessica’s Peterbilt

A key feature of Mercer’s booth is the working truck we showcase every year—a true reflection of the pride and excellence of our owner-operators. Last year, we had the honor of displaying SuperTruckerDan’s rig, and this year, we’re thrilled to feature a truck that already has a MATS title under its belt. Eddy and Jessica’s solid black and chrome Peterbilt, which won last year’s award for Most Beautiful Truck, is a showstopper.

What makes this even more special is that Eddy and Jessica are doing this purely out of their love for the industry. This isn’t a paid gig—it’s a labor of passion and a way to share their pride in trucking with thousands of attendees. Their generosity in allowing Mercer to feature their truck is something we deeply appreciate, and we hope every visitor to our booth took a moment to admire the craftsmanship and dedication it represents.

Gratitude for an Incredible Team

The Mercer booth at MATS isn’t just about trucking—it’s about people. The ones who plan, build, and execute. The ones who show up early, stay late, and work under immense pressure to make it all happen. And the ones, like Eddy and Jessica, who share their passion with the world.

To every team member, contractor, and volunteer who played a role in bringing Mercertown to life—thank you. Your hard work lays the foundation for a successful show, and we couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to another amazing year at MATS, and to the people who make it all possible!
