A Celebration Through the Decades: Mercer’s 2025 Jamboree Brings the Disco Fever!

Every year, Mercer Transportation kicks off the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) with our highly anticipated Jamboree. What started as a simple cookout has transformed into an epic annual celebration that brings together our Mercer family in the best way possible—through food, fun, and unforgettable memories.

This year, we took a trip back to the ‘70s with a disco-themed Jamboree, and Mercer’s campus was alive with energy! A dazzling disco ball spun overhead as colorful lights filled the night, setting the perfect scene for a groovy good time. Our incredibly talented DJ kept the beats flowing, and a bubble machine added an extra touch of magic. Owner-operators, staff, out-of-town agents, vendors, and family members all came together, proving once again that Mercer is more than just a company—it’s a community.

Of course, no celebration is complete without incredible food, and we had some of the best! Shack in the Back, a local staple, catered a delicious feast that kept partygoers fueled for all the festivities. And for a sweet treat, Ehrler’s rolled in with their ice cream truck, bringing smiles to everyone, young and old.

The dance floor wasn’t just for showing off moves—it became the centerpiece for games like musical chairs, bringing out plenty of laughs and friendly competition. Throughout the night, we gave away exciting prizes, making the celebration even more special for our dedicated Mercer family.

Beyond the music, food, and games, the heart of the Jamboree has always been about building relationships. This event is our chance to bridge the gap between all of Mercer’s moving parts. It’s an opportunity for drivers, office staff, agents, and vendors to connect in person—beyond emails and phone calls—to share stories, shake hands, and strengthen the bonds that keep Mercer running strong. Our owner-operators are the backbone of this company, and this night was all about celebrating them and showing our appreciation for everything they do.

Looking back at past Jamborees, we’ve done everything from game show themes to luaus, and even hosted our own truck show on campus. Each year, the event grows bigger and better, and 2025 was no exception. It was a night of fun, friendship, and a reminder of why Mercer has remained the owner-operator company for so many years.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made this incredible night possible. Dean Donnell and his team in Contractor Relations worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life, along with so many others behind the scenes. Your hard work and dedication made this year’s Jamboree one to remember.

As we wrap up another successful Jamboree and year at MATS, we’re reminded once again that Mercer is a people company. We just happen to move freight.
