Mercer Transportation at MATS 2025: Building Connections and Embracing New Ventures

For over two decades, Mercer Transportation has been a proud participant in the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS 2025), establishing ourselves as a staple within the Kentucky Exposition Center. Our expansive and engaging displays have consistently drawn attendees, and this year was no exception. Embracing the theme of an old-school diner, our booth provided a welcoming space for visitors to relax and recharge amidst the bustling atmosphere of the show.

Traditionally, Mercer has maintained two separate booths—one dedicated to our brokerage department and another focused on recruiting. However, due to ongoing renovations at the convention center, we consolidated our MATS 2025 presence into a single, unified space affectionately known as ‘Mercertown.’ This adjustment allowed our team to collaborate more closely, sharing insights and strategies to enhance our outreach efforts.

Beyond our external objectives, MATS 2025 serves as an invaluable opportunity for internal team building. Spending three days together, our team bonded over long hours and the shared experience of convention center cuisine and the expense of vending machine energy drinks. This year, the pork chop sandwiches were a standout, complemented by delectable chicken tenders and an unforgettable rib-eye sandwich.

Recognizing the importance of connecting with our drivers, especially those visiting from out of town, we provided shuttle services from our campus to the convention center. This initiative ensured that our drivers could navigate the event with ease, allowing them to focus on engaging with the myriad exhibits and educational sessions available.

A highlight of this year’s participation was taking our podcast, “The Mercer Roadshow,” on the road for the first time. Broadcasting live from our booth, we engaged with drivers, staff, and even took live phone calls, creating an interactive experience that resonated with our audience. The success of this venture has inspired us to explore more live recordings at future events.

Participating in MATS 2025 underscores Mercer’s commitment to fostering relationships—within our team, with our drivers, and across the broader trucking community. As we reflect on another successful year at the show, we look forward to building upon these connections and continuing to drive excellence in the industry.
